چکیده

Abstract This research aims to extend the isothermal continuum mechanical modeling framework of hydraulic fracturing in porous materials account for non-isothermal processes. Whereas theory media is used macroscopic material description, phase-field method utilized crack initiation and propagation. We proceed this study from a two-phase consisting thermomechanically interacting pore fluid solid matrix. The heat exchange between surrounding environment through diffusive fracture edges carefully studied, new formulations here are proposed. Besides, temperature-dependent parameters taken into account, which particular importance connection with viscosity its effect on post-cracking pressure behavior. treatment results strongly coupled partial differential equations mass, momentum, energy balance thermally non-equilibrated constituents. Using finite element method, two-dimensional initial-boundary-value problems presented show, one hand, stability robustness applied numerical algorithm solving emerged problem convection-dominated transport state. On other they show capability scheme predicting important instances related role temperature field process. Additionally, using stabilization techniques, such as adding an artificial thermo-diffusivity term, mitigate fluctuations at high flow velocity.

A Numerical Modeling for Natural Convection Heat Transfer in Porous Media With Generated Internal Heat Sources

In this paper a numerical method is used to study the unsteady state natural convection heat transfer within a confined porous media with uniform internal heat generation. The governing equations based on the Darcy model and Bossiness approximations are solved, using the finite difference Alternating Direction Implicit (ADI) method. The developed program was used to simulate natural convection ...

Numerical modelling of convection dominated transport coupled with density driven flow in porous media

In this paper we present a numerical model for a problem of coupled flow and transport in porous media. We use a barycenter based finite volume method, which, in the case of convection dominated transport, is combined with suitable upwind methods, in order to avoid numerical instabilities. We present some relevant and new numerical results for the Elder problem, which offer a better understandi...

Transport of acridine in saturated porous media.

The effects of the aqueous solution pH, temperature, initial solute concentration and non-equilibrium processes on the transport of acridine in saturated porous media (silica) were investigated in a series of continuous-flow column experiments. The enthalpy of the adsorption reaction was more exothermic when the solution pH was above acridine's pKa (5.6) than when it was below. The extent of ad...

Transport Property Estimation of Non-Uniform Porous Media

In this work a glass micromodel which its grains and pores are non-uniform in size, shape and distribution is considered as porous medium. A two-dimensional random network model of micromodel with non-uniform pores has been constructed. The non-uniformity of porous model is achieved by assigning parametric distribution functions to pores throat and pores length, which was measured using ima...
